In a move to bolster their strategic ties, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osor Uchral have agreed to deepen cooperation between their two nations. Meeting in Tokyo, the leaders explored avenues for enhancing economic development and infrastructure collaboration, reinforcing a commitment to broadening bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Takaichi expressed appreciation for Mongolia’s support of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, highlighting Japan’s interest in expanding its cooperative efforts with Mongolia. This sentiment was echoed by Prime Minister Uchral, who emphasized that strengthening relations with Japan is a significant priority in Mongolia’s foreign policy. Uchral reaffirmed his nation’s dedication to fostering closer ties with Japan.
One of the pivotal outcomes of the meeting was the endorsement of an agreement concerning Japan’s assistance in the expansion of Chinggis Khaan International Airport. This project is poised to enhance Mongolia’s international connectivity, underscoring the robust infrastructure cooperation between the two countries.
